The craft
925 sterling silver, rhodium plating, natural stones — and a hinge that works from the inside.
925 sterling silver
Every silver piece is 925 sterling (92.5% silver). Sterling is soft, so we finish the surface with rhodium plating — a platinum-group metal that resists scratching and tarnish, and is the standard way to keep silver bright over years of wear.
Moving wings
At the centre of the archangel line sits a small hinge hidden beneath each wing. The wings are not soldered decoration: they swing freely within a short arc, shifting angle as the wearer moves. It is the most labour-intensive part of the collection — and the first thing a copy will leave out.
Natural stones
- Natural amethyst, green amethyst and lemon topaz — the main stones of the ankh and Chalice Well designs
- Natural rhodolite garnet — set in the 14K solid gold guardian angel
- Natural diamonds — the small stones of the Greek mythology series
- Tsavorite — used in the Tanimanidis sculptural works
- Cubic zirconia — used on some entry pieces; synthetic, and always stated on the product page
14K gold and sculptural work
The guardian angel and the icosahedron are made by hand in 14K solid gold. Separately, the collector’s works made with the Greek sculptor Tanimanidis are each carved by hand in Athens in very small numbers, with lead times measured in months.
Care
Keep the piece away from perfume, chlorinated water and cleaning agents, and return it to its pouch when not worn. For dirt around the setting, use lukewarm water with a little mild soap and a soft brush, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner on the wing styles — the moving parts do not belong in one.
